Apparently Grading is a big deal

We are currently in the new house working out any kinks.

Thankfully there haven't been many (knock wood). We did get a bit of water in our basement after that few days of torrential rains.  Not HUGE amounts or anything, but a puddle.

Our builder sent out a guy to inspect everything.  There was no sign of water dripping down the basement walls (which would indicate a crack.  Instead, it is coming up from where the walls meet the floor.  That is due to the fact that the property hasn't had final grading, we don't have downspouts and the weeping tile paraphernalia on the outside of the house isn't finished.

Stucco and downspouts should go on this September.  But I don't think final grading will happen until next spring.  We'll see I guess.  Still, I was impressed by how our builder handled it.  Really, the responded quickly to our concerns and remedied what needed to be remedied,, can't ask for much more than that.

Yesterday evening was the start of my exercise regime.  I had fallen out of it in the summer because of all the renos and moving, but it was time to get back at it.

It really amazes me how fast you lose your running endurance.  It's crazy.  But non the less I toughed it out and did 3 miles.  I wasn't running the whole time, it was a run/walk/run/walk situation, but still... I was moving.  Progress.

Tonight I have to go shopping to get presents for the Unbirthday this weekend. I really have no idea about what to get Mum and Dad.  Hopefully I find inspiration soon.
