Session 1 DONE!

Bonus of having a day off is that I got all my marking done! Whoo Hoo! So now, I just have to return the marks to students on November 18, just in time to start my holidays on November 19.  SWEET!  I hope to get to a point whereby I can start lecturing. I think I should probably get a few more sessions of marking under my belt first, but I think lecturing would be something different and a nice change of pace.

With marking out of the way, I have to seriously think about doing some shopping. I need a dress for the wedding, some new shades, sunscreen, dress pants for Bleeker (restaurants are semi-formal).... OMG, just thinking about it I am getting excited.

The unfortunate part is that we only seem to get away to tropical locations when someone is getting married. We are quickly running out of single friends as they are all coupling up.   There is something about going down to Mexico for a wedding that makes it so much more justified.

It was quite odd having a day off in the middle of the week. Totally threw me off my game. I get completely into weekend mode only to have to come back today.  Thing is, now that quarter end is over (and it was a LONG one), month end is starting up, so today I am going to tackle all the things that have been waiting because we were working on the quarter.  So this is going to be a busy Friday!!

Even better is that it is report card day. I don't understand the way they do report cards. When I was in elementary, they had Excellent, Very Good, Satisfactory, and Poor.  Pretty damn obvious how you were doing. Now it's all cryptic and PC.    Zach's usually does well on all the cognitive stuff; reading, math etc. The trouble with Z is his behavior, so that's always front and center on the reports.  We're working on it, so no point dwelling on the negative.  I am excited to see Logan's first one.  I rescheduled the parent/teacher conferences as we will be away. I don't want to miss the opportunity to talk to the teachers so I am pleased that they were flexible and let us find a different time.

Bleeker's been gone for over a week now.  He comes home on Sunday night. It has gone by fast and slow at the same time - isn't that odd? It's like the hour to hour is dragging, but when I look back, I can't believe it's been a week already.
